Teekkarikuoro: Searching for Spring 7.5.2024
Miss Spring has had trouble getting up and moving this year. The increase in light and the turning of clocks have been astonishing, and the snow is suddenly disappearing. After a few snoozes, the drowsy Miss Spring goes in search of both her motivation and her tools to bring spring to Finland. The musical journey takes Miss Spring through Finnish pop, Kalevala verses, sweet tunes from Wikipedia and many other kinds of music until, hopefully, in the end, she will achieve spring!
Welcome to Teekkarikuoro’s spring concert and join Miss Spring on her quest to find her way up and down in Tampere University city centre campus Main Auditorium on Tuesday, May 7 at 7 pm. Tickets (20/10 €) can be bought in advance from Tiketti (link to be added soon), choir members and TREY Service Offices or at the entrance by card or cash.
Founded in 1985, Teekkarikuoro is one of the most prominent student choirs in Tampere. Most of the singers are students of technology, but the 60 members of the choir also include Masters of Science and people from other academic fields. The choir based at Tampere University Hervanta Campus aspires to have a lively tone and a versatile repertoire but never forgets to have fun. Teekkarikuoro is conducted by Johanna Lantto, music pedagogue and MSE in environmental engineering.
