Supervision of student interests

Tampere is a student city. All the universities have a student union which supervises its member’s interests. Student unions are the closest associates for students for instance when the bureaucracy of the universities poses a threat to student interests.

Furthermore, student unions actively promote student interest and rights on the national level. The student unions of Tampere have founded Ryhmä 35 000 (Group 35 000) which promotes student views in municipal policies.
